Expat Psychologist – Experience

After a career as a project manager in various profit and non-profit organizations, I decided to switch career and fully changed track. At the time I sold my house and used the proceeds to study Psychology at Utrecht University. Three and a half years later, I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Clinical Psychology. By my method it is clearly noticeable that I started my career in business: I work results-oriented, put my clients to work and teach them how to control their behaviour.

Research in Clinical Psychology

In England, within University College London and the Traumatic Stress Clinic London, led by the internationally renowned trauma specialist Professor of Clinical Psychology, Chris R. Brewin, I conducted scientific research on Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Currently, I am still affiliated with University as of my Ph.D research on ‘Chronic traumatization, attachment and personality’. I also attended several specialized trainings, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, EMDR, Dream work, Coaching and trainings Living Abroad.

Expat Psychologist – Psychologist and paranormally gifted

From a young age I was confronted with my paranormal talent. Over the years I have trained this gift for professional use. In my work I use my experience and expertise in the field of burnout, eating disorder, giftedness, and highly-sensitivity.

Education and training

Before I started to guide people in my practice, I spent years working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in many clinical settings such as mental health care services, a private psychiatric practice as well as in the corporate world with large multi-national businesses in The Netherlands and in UK, where I have trained executives.

I am a psychologist with extensive clinical experience on a broad range of problems including psycho-trauma, burnout, weight management issues, stress, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive behaviour, grief and loss, attachment problems, parenting issues, coping with life’s challenges and adjustment issues as well as problems with high sensitivity and being gifted.

You are welcome to make an appointment. More information about treatments at Expat Psychologist can be found under treatment.
